JSYK10: When I Dream

Imagine yourself in a forest of tall, green trees. The canopy above you is thick enough to shade your head, but just thin enough to let wandering sunbeams cut fall through to the ground, casting jagged shadows and the grass and ferns at your feet. There's a deer in the trees grazing silently, unaware of your presence. birds chatter cheerfully above, curious of such a strange creature, but not afraid. You move your hand away as a caterpillar creeps across the log on which you rest.

Imagine yourself on a cloud, warm and soft, as you wonder how it can be that your can rest on this cloud, yet your hand pass right through it. Nothing but blue sky and feathery wisps of other clouds all around. Your back warmed by the sun and your face cooled by the breeze are making you sleepy, but there's more to see. The breeze picks up and a hot air balloon decorated in colors indescribable burst through a cloud in front of you. You feel your breath taken away as you wave to the operator who smiles wide and continues on his unknown way. You feel yourself dozing off, but you can't fall asleep. not yet. not yet...

Imagine yourself dancing with a star to a song only celestial bodies could sing, his bright hands spinning you across the cosmos as the planets stare in envy. Though you try to keep up the amazing footwork, the magic of it all sweeps you off your feet and you don't care. The cold of space that once bothered you is now welcome as you spin endlessly. As you dance, other stars join in and your star takes a new partner. you sit on the lap of the moon as he cradles you in his old, wise arms, and you watch the spectacle as the stardancers move perfectly in the sky in circles and spirals and patterns until your hands are tired from clapping and your breath is gone from cheering.

Then the star wanders over and takes hold of your hand, and he and the cloud and the birds slowly lift you away and place you back in your seat where you here t where you open your eyes as the teacher says, "Open your books to page 335. We have a lot of work to do today..."
