A Letter

Here's a letter just for you
There's all this stuff I wish you knew
The day you opened up my eyes
And made me giggle with surprise
When I saw what you could do
And realized that I could, too
It started out as fancy free
But it's now a solid part of me
And I look back every now and then
To feel that same surprise again
And I really, really hope you know
How far your work has let me go
If you can here me where you are
And I'm not just talking to the stars
I wish you were still here, it's true
To have my most sincere thank you.
