Summer Thoughts
There's a way my thoughts will nestle
Where the summer shadows settle
When cold breezes cease to brittle
Ponder pieces in my head
And it's there they grow emphatic
With a touch of the dramatic
After months of waiting static
With stored energy unused
But they all rise together
And collide in their endeavor
To be free from me, however
They just render me confused
As I'm a slave to time
I must find in reason rhyme
To declare one thought sublime
And all the others dead.
Where the summer shadows settle
When cold breezes cease to brittle
Ponder pieces in my head
And it's there they grow emphatic
With a touch of the dramatic
After months of waiting static
With stored energy unused
But they all rise together
And collide in their endeavor
To be free from me, however
They just render me confused
As I'm a slave to time
I must find in reason rhyme
To declare one thought sublime
And all the others dead.
