Lakeside
Where else does the world grow still
Lulled by little lapping waves
Shushed by whispering winds in shade
Of clouds which calm the sun's harsh will
Where else do the waters meet
Long have they been separate thoughts
Celebration fills their hearts
With leaps and cries of joy so sweet
Where else can my soul be sane
My infernal dubious mind
Softens with the forest line
When standing lakeside in the rain
Lulled by little lapping waves
Shushed by whispering winds in shade
Of clouds which calm the sun's harsh will
Where else do the waters meet
Long have they been separate thoughts
Celebration fills their hearts
With leaps and cries of joy so sweet
Where else can my soul be sane
My infernal dubious mind
Softens with the forest line
When standing lakeside in the rain
