City Side Blues
There's a place where the raindrops won't touch me
But the warmth from the dryer vent will
Where you can see streetlights for inches around
And walls are the horizons fill
Where cars ensure no space is wanting for more
And lonely thin trees wish for real forest floor
And yet I'm still sitting here writing
I'm still wearing my same old shoes
And though I'm not scared of the changes
The lack of stars gives me the blues
But the warmth from the dryer vent will
Where you can see streetlights for inches around
And walls are the horizons fill
Where cars ensure no space is wanting for more
And lonely thin trees wish for real forest floor
And yet I'm still sitting here writing
I'm still wearing my same old shoes
And though I'm not scared of the changes
The lack of stars gives me the blues
