Secrets

They can ask, but I won't say
They don't want what I give away
They can spill their whole life free
And then expect the same from me
All to prove that they were right
When they were guessing in the night
How dare they make assumptions wide
When they, themselves, have much to hide
Anchored close by curious ears
Feeding on my loves and fears
My heart despises them, it's so
And yet my eyes seem now to know
Because I love that they seem to care
But, oh, how easily they scare
How do I know these things are true?
I know they do, for I do, too.
