Long Night

The lights went out
And so, in night
I wait

For sleep tonight
As every night
Is late

My colored walls
Appear in shades
Of gray

And I count sheep
As seconds tick
Away

Twinkling memories
Keep me wide
Awake

With weighing thoughts
And heavy lids
I wait
