Unstoppable Clocks

Way up high where the sky is clear
Rosie knew that the end was near
She ran to the heavens and loudly she knocked
Screaming and crying, "You must stop the clocks!"
She banged at the gates and jingled the locks
Begging the angels to halt all the clocks
While others were swimming and laughing on docks
Rosie stood crying, "You must stop the clocks!"
While children were playing and taking long walks
Rosie sat screaming, "You must stop the clocks!"
While people were dancing and eating ice cream
And watching the stars and learning new things
Collecting sports cards and petting small dogs
Making fun sounds on bongos and falling off logs
Playing board games for hours on long pizza nights
And sitting 'neath trees watching firefly lights
While people sat calmly, just skipping their rocks
Rosie persisted, "You must stop the clocks!"
And yet, the world ended, despite her remarks
The stars slowly faded and the universe went dark
But you could hear Rosie crying amidst the tick-tocks
For she lost her time stopping unstoppable clocks
