Dandelion Girl

There she sits with golden hair
Picking flowers with tender care
She will sit for hours on end
Tying crowns from fragile stems
Yellow blooms in dawning light
Just beginning, soft and bright
Holding tight to sunlit days
Until her hair begins to grey
Now she holds them tight in hand
Snow white flowers around her stand
Hands as frail as wilting stems
And silver hair in autumn wind
Her eyes will close and she will pray
Then send the seeds to float away
