Things I've Seen

Caterpillar cities

Whipped cream pies

Giant looming snowmen

And rainbow hair ties

These are the things I have seen

Acorns blown from tree limbs

Firefly parades

Islands flanked by concrete

and possums in the shade

These are the things I have seen

Snow up to the rooftops

Rabbits brown and lean

Wide expanse of nothing

And rivers cool and clean

These are the things I have seen

Gecko frills of scarlet

Rains that never end

Oceans bright and frightening

And hours to play pretend

These are the things I have seen

Dogwoods white with blossoms

Birds who sing at night

Raindrops on the footbridge

And rainbows in the light

These are the things I have seen

So much more to notice

Too much to take in

I must stay attentive

Lest a miracle begin

For I have so much more to see
